The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is available in five trims -- S, SE, SE R-Line Black, SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line. Both Tiguan S and SE models welcome new 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheel designs. SE models feature new driver-assistance features and upgraded infotainment with standard Adaptive Cruise Control, as well as the next-generation MIB3 infotainment system. The SEL Premium R-Line features a standard power passenger seat.

Roof rails are standard, allowing outdoors enthusiasts to upgrade the vehicle with accessories such as bike, kayak, and ski carriers. The available accessory towing hitch can be used to pull up to 1,500 pounds.
The versatility of seating in the Tiguan is what sets it apart from the competition. In front-wheel-drive Tiguan models, three rows of seating are standard, including a second-row bench that can recline, slide 7 inches fore and aft, fold down, and be split 40/20/40.
